How can we tackle the world’s most pressing problems?

What if you could help stop the next pandemic? Or tackle other pressing problems like climate change, mass incarceration, nuclear war, global poverty, or transformative AI?

Part of a global movement, the Effective Altruism Society helps students figure out how to do the most good with our lives and careers by combining evidence and compassion to find the best opportunities for improving the world.

What do we do?

Fellowships & Reading Groups

We host a variety of reading groups, from the Introductory Fellowship, to deeper dives into specific topics, such as AI Safety and Rationality.

Co-working & Socials

Coworking is a place to connect with other EAs, collaborate on projects, or just a quiet space to work independently. Held every Weds from 4-6pm in FAB3.28.
We also hold some laid back socials such as coffee mornings, picnics and groups runs!

Talks & Workshops

Learn from experts in their field, covering a variety of topics from AI to biosecurity to global development.
We also run occaisional hackathons and career workshops.
